This was my first time purchasing from Ballard Designs. The customer service experience was so horrible, that I will never order from them again. Even when I tried to call the corporate office about my experience, I was given 3 different phone numbers. None of the numbers I was given even reached a real person, so I could not make a complaint. I called the customer service 5 times to place an order. The first time I called they said the order was placed, but I never received the receipt that I asked them to email me. I called back to make sure they had the correct email and they said the order was never placed, even though the first customer service representative said she placed it. I asked the second representative to please place the order again, since they didn't place it the first time. She said she would place it a second time. But, again I never received the receipt or confirmation number that I asked for. I called back a third time and told them to just cancel the order altogether because they have tried to place it several times and I don't want multiple charges on my account. The item was $2,800. On this third call they assured me that they cancelled the transactions and that I would not be charged. I checked my bank account and they had indeed charged me for the item, TWICE, even though they said they cancelled the transaction. I called back a fourth time explaining that they had double charged me. They were not professional or apologetic about their mistake, which was very frustrating. I asked them again to please make sure the order is cancelled and give me a confirmation #. They would not give me any type of confirmation #. I gave them two different email addresses that they could have used and a physical address to look up my account, but they repeatedly said I didn't have an email on file, so they couldn't send me an email receipt. Bottom line is they said my order was canceled multiple times and it wasn't, in fact it was double charged. I had to call back a 5th time to speak to a manager, Juanita. She did not seem very concerned or apologetic about their mistake. This experience has been very disheartening, as I really liked their product. But, the customer service was so incompetent and unreliable, that they lost me as a customer. ...
