I recently shipped a vehicle using IAL, immediately after picking it up I noticed an issue with my instrument panel while driving (speedometer not functioning correctly). Unfortunately, the manner of failure prevented it from being easily recognizable during the receipt inspection. I filed a claim with IAL the day after pickup and attempted to work through that process with the IAL claims department. IAL eventually notified me that they will not be honor my claim, stating IAL is not responsible for electrical or mechanical failure issues because it is (quote) out of their control (endquote). Further, IAL stated I would have needed to provide some type of proof of physical damage to the vehicle that would have caused the instrument panel failure. Since it is likely that a shock or load event occurred from shipping (causing the detent failure in the panel), it would be extremely difficult to recreate exactly what occurred during shipping. Unless the vehicle had taken a serious fall or physical stress event to cause significant frame damage, there’s little to no chance in figuring out what happened. IAL has stated they will not to honor my claim and has provided little to no assistance in this process. Through the numerous reviews posted for IAL, it is very clear that the claims department has zero intent on helping resolve issues. Their primary responsibility is to find any way around liability for issues that occur to a vehicle while it within their custody. They are limited in actual responses and have little to no care for the servicemen and women that they are supposed to be supporting. Oddly enough, I actually found the same copy and pasted response that I received in my claim denial as someone else had on their posted review. It is rather unfortunate that the military has no other option than to use this company for PCS orders. Very much hope that the government starts to take these reviews seriously and consider finding another contractor in the future.
