Customer ComplaintsI placed an order through Uber Eats and canceled the order a few minutes after placing it. I received an email the next day stating I was charged the full amount of the order because the restaurant started the order. I understand a fee for a cancelation but not the entire amount especially since it was only minutes later. I contacted the chat support to resolve the issue and spoke with the rudest representative who refused to help and the accused me of trying to escalate the situation when I asked for a manager or corporate information. She refused to provide me with any information and said it was for privacy reasons. I then spoke with someone else on the chat who didn't even try to resolve the issue and ended the chat while I was still asking for help. This was one of the worse customer service issues. If I can't get a refund, I should at least receive the product I paid for.
Customer ReviewsMy order from freebirds was going to be over 40 mins late because they got delayed with the last delivery according to the message on the app and app asked if i wanted a full refund because of it. So i contacted chat support which asked if i wanted to cancel my order and i selected no. After few mins i was able to get to an actual person. First thing he says is i understand that u want to cancel your order for a full refund. And i said not do not to cancel my order. I told him to ask the restaurant to remake my order so it stays relatively warm. For those of you who do not know free birds is like chipotle so they can quickly remake the food. Then he says your driver is on his way to pick up the food at which point i told him no he is not. The app it telling me right now he still has a delivery to make before he goes to pick up my oder. At this point without letting me know he cancelled the delivery driver and let me know he going to have a different driver pick up my order which delayed it even further as the other driver was close to finishing his delivery while i was wasting time chatting with him. Then i told him why did u assign a new driver as you just delayed my order even further. He than said i have two options either he can cancel my order or give me 4 dollar off. I told him cancelling my order is going to make my food another hour late and 4 dollar back does nothing about the cold food. I said Why can not you not just make them make a new food as cancelling with refund would cost them the same thing as getting the restaurant to make a new food for me as the restaurant would have to throw my old food away regardless. At which point he message me saying has cancelled my order and issued a full refund. I asked why he cancelled my order. He said he has noted my concern and an investigation is going to happen. I asked him what he noted my concern was because my concern was him doing what he wanted and cancelling my order without me asking for it. He just end the chat at that point. Worst customer service i have ever seen and he thinks just because they give a refund they could careless about anything else. If anyone from uber reads this comment stop acting like refund means end all, yes i got my money back but i still need to eat dinner but it an hour later now. If money was the issue people would not be order on uber eats and pick up the food themself as uber eats cost over 10 dollars after all the fees and tips than picking it up them self. ...
